Hello Dear Music Lovers,
Like so many confused buds in this warm and dry year YURT MUSIC has decided to open early. However we are not a harbinger of a climate gone awry, no we are simply too dang excited to wait for summer to welcome our ole pals
Breathe Owl Breathe back into yurt. Our fourth season of music on the edge (of the continent) continues with this special evening of music. Local songstresses
Yesway will kick things off, their intricate and harmony rich sounds.

If you haven't heard Breathe Owl Breathe yet, you are in luck, as there is a whole realm of fantastic and fantastical music waiting to envelope you and color your world for a while. This trio originally hailing from Michigan, is often tagged under the banner of "indie folk, an ill fitting garment that they are more likely to tear up and and use as eye patches and capes than to be contained by. In reality the only parameters for this band seem to be that the music must be engaging (to each other and their listeners), full of heart and made with craftsmanship. The core musical line up of Breathe Owl Breathe is guitar, drums and cello, but at any given show stray instruments, (like mini-keyboards and thumb-pianos) will be elevated to new heights, given a chance to lead the pack (like Rudolf at Christmas time). Each and every performance with Breathe Owl Breathe is a journey, and we hope you will join us in the flying saucer that is ++YURT MUSIC++

Hello friends old and new,
From right near by,
Or far and wide.
We three have new tunes in our elbows and knees
(old ones too, though newly known…)
And ready be
To travel and sing them to any turtle, dog or flea
Who cares to have a listen, or invite us in for tea…
Our van will set sail for two weeks time:
From April 19 to May 2 shall we twine
And wind our way from here to there…
Which is why we now reach out to any of YOU who DARE
To HOST us! Yes! To Help us find our way.
We are looking for houses, farms, galleries or garages in which to play!
Do you or a friend have a corner, garden, deck?
To which we could travel—we’re sure it’s worth the trek…
Perhaps it’s your birthday!
Or you just like making pies…
And sharing them with dear ones, filling your home with joyous cries!
An excuse to have a potluck, or hot cider by the fire,
As you listen to us sing (you can be our back-up choir).
This is serious folks—we mean it when we say
We want to come and join you, if you’d like and if we may,
We’ve played some wild places, in the fray and in the hay…
So stop and think.
Let your imagination fly…
Wouldn’t Aunt Suzie’s big ole living room be worth a try?
Please don’t be bashful, think it’s silly or be shy,
We’d really love to hear from you—in Seattle or Shanghai!
